Care Guide
Good textiles deserve
good care.
Our textiles are made for everyday living. A little care helps preserve their colour, texture and character, wash after wash.
Follow the care instructions on the product page first.
Everything below is a general guide. The instructions added to each piece is the final word on that piece.
01
Washing
- Follow the care label first. It is the final word on any individual piece.
- Machine washable at 30°C or 40°C, depending on the product.
- Always wash with like colours — it helps preserve the original colour.
- For delicate cotton pieces, use a gentle cycle at 30°C.
02
Bleach
- We do not recommend bleaching coloured textiles.
03
Drying
- Where permitted, tumble dry on a medium setting.
- For more delicate textiles, or pieces marked for line drying, line dry instead.
- Remove textiles from the machine or dryer promptly to minimise creasing.
04
Ironing
- Iron according to the care label.
- Where specified, use a warm or low iron.
- For some cotton and cotton-linen textiles, an iron temperature of up to 150°C is permitted.
- Do not iron directly over decorative elements where the care label specifies this.
- Some pieces are marked Do Not Iron.
05
Dry Clean
- Some Viyn textiles can be dry cleaned.
- Always check the individual care label before dry cleaning.
Reading your care label
What the symbols mean.
These are the international care symbols you will find on a Viyn label. They read in the same order every time — wash, bleach, dry, iron, professional cleaning.
Machine wash 30°C
Warm-to-cool machine wash.
Machine wash 40°C
A warmer wash, where the label allows it.
Gentle cycle 30°C
The bar beneath the tub means a reduced, gentler action.
Do not bleach
A crossed triangle. No bleach of any kind.
Tumble dry, medium
Two dots inside the circle mean a medium heat setting.
Line dry
A single vertical line means hang to dry rather than tumble.
Iron, medium
Two dots allow up to 150°C.
Do not iron
The iron crossed through.
May be dry cleaned
A plain circle. The letter your label shows inside it tells the cleaner which solvent to use.
A small note on natural fibres
Cotton, linen and jute are natural fibres. Their subtle variations in texture and appearance are part of their character.
Treat them with care, and they will continue to feel at home in yours.
